Information Science & Engineering

Information Science and Engineering is a branch of engineering which focuses on the management and processing of information using computational techniques. It involves understanding how information is stored, organized, retrieved, and manipulated within computer systems.

ISE covers a wide range of topics, including database management, information retrieval, information security, data mining, and artificial intelligence. It deals with the efficient handling of data and information in various forms. Graduates in ISE may work as database administrators, information systems managers, data analysts, information security specialists, or in roles related to the design and implementation of information systems.

ISE places a greater emphasis on the management and processing of information within computer systems, including databases, information retrieval, and information security.

The programme is of four years duration comprising eight semesters. During this period the student is able absorb the rays of information science through subjects such as File structures, Analysis and Design of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, etc. The programme also provides platform for learning programming languages by offering the subject namely Python and JAVA.

HOD’s Profile

Chethan Raj C currently heading Information Science & Engineering at Mysuru Royal Institute of Technology obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering from East West Institute of Technology, Bangalore (affiliated to VTU Belagavi) and Master’s Degree in Computer Network Engineering from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore (affiliated to VTU Belagavi). He is persuing his Ph.D from University of Mysore. He has cleared GATE, KSET and UGCNET.

He has more than 13 years’ experience in teaching and well versed in programming languages like C, C++, Java and advanced technologies like Machine Learning, Cloud computing, IoT. He has published 9 articles in national/international journals and presented his papers in 5 national/international conferences. He also has one patent to his credit. He is a life member of ISTE and member of International Association of Engineers, CSI. He is also a member of Board of Studies in Computer Science at KSOU since 2019.

He joined Mysuru Royal Institute of Technology in 2016 as Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Engineering department.
